Moving for Joy and Connection
This class will be a perfect antidote to the midweek slump and re-energise you for the weekend. We will focus on moving in improvised ways that free up tensions and stuck emotions while completely forgetting we are also getting some exercise!
This class allows you to move as quietly and slowly or as loudly and largely as you need. We will work in circles, pairs, and small groups, using a variety of musical styles. The group is capped at 8 members.
We will tap into the sense of community and connection moving together brings while using varied movement qualities, rhythm, metaphor, and reflection to enhance our connection to ourselves and others. No formal movement improvisation or dance experience is expected.
This class will be suitable for those who:
want to experience the joy of moving with others in a group where skill is not in focus
want a rhythmic experience of feeling in “unison with others” while also having the opportunity to have one’s uniqueness valued and celebrated
seek connection with others in a way that doesn’t rely on talking
are curious to explore improvised movement
Please do get in touch with any questions or concerns.
